U11 Transition Year

U11 – Transition Year

For those parents and children making the jump from U9 to U11 you are about to experience a change from the previous years and potentially a much bigger commitment.

U11 consists of House League, Rep 1 and Rep 2 teams. Any new players or their parents who do not want to commit to traveling and incurring extra costs are welcome to sign up for House league only. This is a great program with new changes made this year to help your child develop and experience some games throughout the season. Rep tryouts will get underway early in the season and Rep 1 & 2 teams will be picked based on an evaluation process. Should there be more then enough children in an age group for two teams, the kids not making a Rep team are encouraged to participate in our house league program and continue to develop their skills.

With Rep 1 hockey comes a big commitment, usually 4 to 5 travel tournaments as far away as Corner Brook, Marystown, Clarenville, Gander, Grand Falls etc. depending on what teams you match up with the best. Each tournament requires parents to travel to the location and stay in a hotel with the rest of the team. Kids are not expected to travel and stay with other families for these tournaments especially at the younger ages, so it is very important that you understand this commitment and the financial cost of which we estimate to be a minimum of $500 a weekend, sometimes more.

Rep 2 teams would likely play a few less tournaments than Rep 1 but there would still be a major financial and time commitment to take part in this team.

It’s very important to have your CeeBees jersey order placed as games will take part very early in the season and you are required to purchase your own CeeBees socks and jersey, after you receive approval of a number.
