DCHGCC Return to Operations Protocols

Return to Operations

Danny Cleary Harbour Grace Community Centre

We have decided to open during this challenging time ensuring all user groups are following Government mandated protocols as well as adhering to the facility’ rules and procedures.

The main entrance is divided into 2 with stickers on the doors indicating “Entry” and “Exit”and caution tape right through the middle to keep users in their own “lane”. There are sanitizing stations throughout the building. All players are permitted to come 30 minutes before their scheduled ice time and it is recommended to be as dressed as possible. They must exit the building 30 minutes after their game.

User groups entering/exiting the facility/ice surface

Group 1:

Entrants will keep to the right using the double “Entry Only” doors and will proceed to the dressing room (dressing rooms 1 – 4), there is a hand sanitizing station by all dressing rooms.

Once they are fully dressed they will proceed to the specific gate to enter the ice. Once their time has concluded they will exit through the same gate to proceed back to where they put their skates on. They will remove their skates and proceed to exit the building following the directional arrows.

Their will be designated areas for parents/guardians to watch if they choose to do so. They are to enter/exit in the same manner as detailed above. 2 parents/guardians per player is permitted.

** There is to be no gathering in either of the staging areas or the main foyer

Group 2:

As the first group exits the ice, the second group will be entering the facility. Group 2 entrants will keep to the right using the double “Entry Only” doors and will proceed to their dressing room (Rooms 5 & 6), there will also be a hand sanitizing station by these dressing rooms as well.

Once they are fully dressed they will proceed to their specific gate to enter the ice.

** There is to be no gathering in dressing rooms or the main foyer

It should be noted that group 1 and group 2 will not cross paths as one group enters and the other group exits.

Cleaning/Disinfecting/Sanitizing Procedure

Prior to a user group entering the building all dressing rooms, benches, touch points, viewing areas, restrooms…will have been cleaned and sanitized. Checklists have been posted in areas that require sanitizing

As group 1 prepares to exit the ice, a cleaner will be ready to enter the benches to start sanitizing while the ice is being resurfaced.

Once that is complete, they will proceed to the designated viewing areas where the parents/guardians watched to start sanitizing. At this point, group 2 is ready to go on the ice and group 1 are exiting the building. When group 1 are all gone, the cleaner will proceed to their dressing room to sanitize and will proceed to the exit continuing to sanitize all touch points along the way.  They will then sanitize all touch points on the entry side in preparation for the next group

The bathroom facility along with general cleanliness of the facility will also be attended to in a routine manner.
